Assembling a hair bow is simple when you piece together loops of ribbon with wire rather than tie a bow the old-fashioned way. The challenge lies in covering the wire wrapped around the center of your bow while adding a knot to make the bow appear to have been tied like a regular bow. A simple solution takes only a few minutes to achieve: a knot tied with a separate piece of ribbon and then wrapped around the center.
Instructions
1. Lay the ribbon horizontally in front of you on your work surface. Flip the left end up at a 90-degree angle, with the "right" side of the ribbon facing up. Repeat with the right end of the ribbon so the two ends overlap with the right end on top and the left on the bottom. You now have a loop of ribbon.
2. Fold the left end over the top of the right end and pull it through the loop to create a knot.
3. Pull the ends of the ribbon to tighten the knot. Wrap the knotted piece of ribbon around the center of your hair bow, with the knot on top of the bow. Glue the ends of the ribbon together in the back and trim any excess ribbon.
