Produce A Stacked Balloon Bouquet

A stacked balloon bouquet can be as tall or short as desired.

Balloons offer party planners an inexpensive and versatile way to decorate a space for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings or other celebrations. Helium-filled balloons can be tied together with ribbon to form balloon bouquets and placed strategically around the room or as centerpieces on tabletops. A simple bouquet can consist of just a few balloons tied together with different lengths of ribbon, or you can create a stacked balloon bouquet for added drama.

Instructions

1. Cut a 7 foot length of curling ribbon for each balloon you intend to use in your stacked balloon bouquet. For a greater aesthetic, match the color of the ribbons to the color of your balloons (See References 1).

2. Inflate your balloons with helium. When each balloon is the desired size, tie a knot in the neck of the balloon to seal the gas inside. All of the balloons should be about the same size, according to the Balloon Decoration Guide (See References 1).

3. Secure a piece of ribbon to each inflated balloon. The most efficient way to accomplish this is to make a loose knot in the ribbon and slip the center of the knot over the knot in the opening of the balloon, according to the Balloon Decoration Guide (See References 1). Tighten the ribbon around the balloon and add one more knot for good measure.

4. Arrange four balloons into a configuration that resembles a four-leaf clover. Tie the ribbons of the four balloons together. Tie a fifth balloon to the center of the configuration. This fifth balloon will be the highpoint of the stacked balloon bouquet and should float just above the others.

5. Add two more balloons to the bouquet, securing them underneath the other balloons. Once these balloons are secure, add two more balloons to complete the clover pattern. Continue adding balloons in this way until the balloon bouquet is as tall as you want it to be.

6. Tie all of the ribbons together. If you intend the balloon bouquet to sit on top of a table, allow 2 to 3 feet of ribbon between the last balloons and this knot. If the balloon bouquet will be positioned on the floor, allow 3 to 5 feet of ribbon.

7. Attach the stacked balloon bouquet to a balloon weight. Curl the excess ribbon with your scissors.
