Gift wrapping is something anyone can do. The ability to make a curling ribbon bow is a neat trick that adds finishing touch to your package. Once you have mastered this, you're on your way to becoming a gift wrapping pro.
Instructions
1. Take about 8 strands of curling ribbon and cut them so they're long enough to wrap around the box, tie into a bow and leave about 8-inch ends. Select a few different colors that coordinate with your wrapped gift box.
2. Wrap the ribbons around your gift box. You should have the long ends to join on the front side of the box, forming a plus sign.
3. Tie a tight double knot. This is easier if you can get another person to hold the ribbon in place while you're doing the second part of the knot. Then, tie the ribbon into a bow, the same kind you make when tying shoes.
4. Cut the loops of the bow so they become straight strands of ribbon.
5. Curl all the ribbon ends with a scissors. Open the scissors so you hold a blade between your thumb and forefinger. Place the ribbon under your thumb so it touches the blade. Pull the blade toward you until you reach the end of the ribbon.
6. Add some extra curling ribbon if you want to make a fuller ribbon bow. Cut additional ribbon pieces about 14-inches long. Tie it to the existing bunch and curl it as described in Step 5.
