Sweet little bows clipped in a baby girl's hair help indicate her gender to strangers while also adding a sweet girlish touch to her outfit. Of course, babies don't usually have a lot of hair, and what little they do have is usually super fine and soft, not giving much for a clip to hold on to. Add a no-slip grip to the alligator clips you attach your bows to so they stay in place in your daughter's hair.
Instructions
1. Place a dot of hot glue on the end of the ribbon. Pinch open the alligator clip, and adhere the end of the ribbon to the underside of the top arm at the open end.
2. Fold the ribbon over the hinged end of the top arm, and adhere it to the topside of the top arm with a line of hot glue.
3. Fold the ribbon over the hinged end with the clip closed. Adhere the ribbon to the underside of the bottom arm of the clip with a line of hot glue.
4. Trim the ribbon 1/2 inch from the end of the clip. Place a dot of hot glue on the end of the ribbon, pinch the clip open, and fold the ribbon over the end of the bottom arm to secure it to the topside of the bottom arm.
5. Measure the length of the inside of the clip. Cut two 1/4-inch-wide strips of no-slip shelf liner the same length as the inside of the clip. Glue one strip on the underside of the top arm and the other on the top side of the bottom arm. The ribbon on the clip will hide the shelf liner when the clip is in your hair, and hide the metal of the clip whether or not you attach a bow.
