Make Hair Bows Out of Bobby Pins
Hair bows are an easy way to dress up an outfit and hold your hair away from your face. You can find all different colors, sizes and patterns of ribbon at craft stores, and most can be easily transformed into hair bows. You can attach your homemade hair bows to almost any blank hair accessory, such as barrettes and headbands. Bobby pins are the least expensive hair accessory that you can attach your hair bows to, and they are also one of the easiest accessories to put in your hair.
Instructions
1. Cut 5-inch and 2-inch strips of ribbon. Fold the 5-inch strip in half and crease it. Unfold the 5-inch strip of ribbon.
2. Run a line of hot glue down the crease that you created in the 5-inch strip of ribbon. Fold the ends of the ribbon into the crease and press them into the hot glue, being careful not to get the hot glue on your fingers.
3. Pinch the folded 5-inch strip of ribbon in the center to give it a bow shape. Place a dot of hot glue on the pinched part of the ribbon while holding it with the very tips of your fingers. Place one end of your 2-inch strip of ribbon in the hot glue. Tightly wrap the strip around the center of the bow and use another dot of hot glue to secure it in place. Trim any excess ribbon from the 2-inch strip.
4. Run a line of hot glue across the strip of ribbon that is wrapped around the bow. Place it where you just trimmed the ribbon. Position the top of your bobby pin in this strip of hot glue to secure it to your hair bow.
