Mossy Oak Camouflage Wedding Styles

Mossy Oak Camouflage Wedding Themes

More frequently, couples are having themed weddings, which may be a lot of fun, but coming up with original ideas can be difficult. If you are leaning toward using camouflage colors for your big day, consider a more equitable route by choosing two hues from the pattern: mossy and oak. Doing so will allow greater flexibility as you make decisions for the plethora of wedding details to come.

Save-the-Dates and Invitations

Save-the-dates, followed by invitations, provide the first look into your themed wedding. Purchase mossy card stock, which can be found at crafts and scrapbooking stores. Print the information on oak-colored or off-white vellum paper. Place the vellum paper on top of the card stock and punch two side-by-side holes at the top of the papers. Thread ribbon, such as green, khaki or hunter's orange, through the holes and tie it off in a simple bow.

Table Decorations

Consider covering tables and chairs with mossy green linens. Purchase and cut the material into strips that are 100 inches long and 7 inches wide. Tie camouflage sashes around the green chair covers for a decorative touch. Next, consider your centerpieces. For an authentic touch, display candles resting in antler candle holders on every other table. Antler candle holders can be found at specialty hunting shops or online. On the other tables, create a display of sticks and green foliage in elegant vases.

Outfits

Depending on your tastes, you can incorporate mossy oak camouflage in your wedding dress or bridal party ensembles. For a subtle hint, select green or khaki for the groomsmen's vests or cummerbunds and ties. Bridesmaids dresses can be in the same green or khaki. For a more obvious take on your theme, dress the groomsmen in camouflage vests or cummerbunds and ties. You may want to add an oak-colored ribbon sash to the bridesmaid's dresses.

Cake

Discuss a camouflage cake with your baker. If you would prefer to keep things simple, consider a plain white cake with a camouflage ribbon wrapped around each layer. For something more extravagant, have your entire cake decorated in a camo pattern. And do not forget a themed cake topper. Find a hunting bride and groom, camo-dressed bride and groom or even small antlers from your local bake shop or online.
