Make Little Girl Hairbows
There isn't much that's cuter than a little girl with a bow in her hair. Making a hairbow for your little girl is very easy. All you have to do is find a long, narrow strip of something pretty that you think she might like to wear in her hair. If trimming the hairbow material to an appropriate length is difficult, you can always tie it into a bow on her head first and then trim the edges later.
Instructions
Make Little Girl Hairbows
1. Use a flexible measuring tape to measure how far it is around your little girl's head from the nape of her neck, behind her ears to the top of her head where the bow will sit, then back down around the other side to the nape of her neck.
2. Add sixteen inches to the measurement you made. So if the measurement around your little girl's head is 18 inches, your total measurement is 18 + 16 which is 34.
3. Trim a narrow strip of fabric, a piece of chunky yarn, or some pretty ribbon to the length of your total measurement above--in this case, 34 inches.
4. Find the center of the fabric, yarn or ribbon. Place this point at the nape of your little girl's neck, underneath her hair.
5. Bring the edges of the fabric, yarn or ribbon you select up around your little girl's head, behind her ears, and to the top of her head. They should come together evenly.
6. Tie a knot in the fabric, yarn or ribbon on top of your little girl's head. It should be snug enough that it won't drop out of her hair, but check to make sure you can still slide a finger underneath it--if you can't, it's too tight and may be uncomfortable.
