Fix Hair Pretty If You're A Teen

Fix your hair based on where you're going.

Teenagers have beautiful, shiny hair even when it isn't entirely groomed. Whether you're going to a school dance or just want to look pretty for Spanish class, fix your hair in a pretty style. Pretty hair is all about accessories, style and creativity. Why look like everyone else in your school when you can be a total standout? Find your brush, your hairspray and hunt for some gorgeous barrettes. Before you have to be out the door, your hairdo will be perfect.

Instructions

1. Wash your hair with shampoo, really working it into your scalp -- almost like a massage. Rinse. Once the shampoo is out, condition your hair according to the instructions on the bottle.

2. Untangle your hair with your comb, working from the tips to the roots. Don't yank at your hair or you could damage it.

3. Blow-dry your hair, lifting sections up with your hairbrush from the roots and directing hot air underneath to add volume. Spray your hair once when it's done to help the smooth, dry hair set. If you want to wear your hair down, you can stop here.

4. Gather your hair back into a ponytail near the crown of your head, brushing the hair back so the sides are smooth. Try wrapping the last three inches of your ponytail around a large-barreled curling iron, then sliding the iron out to develop a curl. Spray to hold. You can also tease your ponytail with your comb to add volume, tie an elastic band around the middle, add another elastic band to the end and fluff out the sections between bands so they create spheres. Spray to hold.

5. Split your hair into two sections -- one on either side of your head. Split each of these sections into three smaller sections for braiding. Tie a ribbon to the top of the first section, and incorporate it into one piece of hair as you braid a side, looping each piece of hair over the others. Repeat with a second ribbon on the other side. Spray when you're done.

6. Add a fun headband or barrette to make any hairstyle prettier. Large flowers and polka dots make a casual look cute. Feathers and jewels are great accents for a fancy outfit.
