Create a funky bow tie with colorful construction paper.
Imaginative play becomes even more fun when you use your creativity to create props and costumes with craft supplies. Making your own toys gives you the ability to design them the way you want and they do not cost you anything more than the cost of paper. Make a paper bow tie to add a 3-D effect to hand drawn portraits or make one you can actually wear as a costume for a play or at-home skit.
Instructions
1. Draw a 6 by 4-inch rectangle on construction paper. Use any color you like and decorate it with markers or crayons if you want to add polka dots or other shapes.
2. Cut out the rectangle with scissors.
3. Pinch the middle of the top and bottom edges together with your fingers to create the bow.
4. Wrap a strip of clear tape around the pinched paper to hold it in the shape of the bow.
5. Wrap the ends of two pipe cleaners around the taped section.
6. Pull the straight ends of the pipe cleaners together at the back of your neck and twist them together to wear the bow tie. Untwist them to remove the bow tie.
