De-frizz your baby's hair to get shiny curls.
Knowing properly de-frizz your baby's hair helps make her curls shiny and healthy-looking. Washing her hair too often, and combing and drying her hair incorrectly leads to damaged and frizzy hair and curls that do not bounce. Curling your baby's hair can sound intimidating and dangerous, but it's important to know that you can achieve the curls without the risk of burning her head with a curling iron by using a more gentle method.
Instructions
1. Wash your baby's hair no more than twice a week with moisturizing baby shampoo. Washing your baby's hair more than twice a week will dry her hair out and make it more prone to frizzing.
2. Apply hair conditioner to your baby's hair after washing it and rinsing out the shampoo. Use a wet comb to comb out any tangles and spread the conditioner throughout your baby's hair before rinsing it out.
3. Rinse her hair with cool water to lock shine into the hair cuticles. This helps de-frizz the hair cuticles and makes her hair more shiny.
4. Gently towel-dry her hair. Squeeze her hair gently between the towel, then wipe down her head briefly to remove excess moisture. It's important that you do not tousle her hair with the towel or rub the towel up her head as this causes frizz.
5. Separate her hair into small sections add a soft curler to each section. The width of each section depends on how large you want the curls. For tighter and smaller curls, choose smaller sections. For big and loose curls, choose larger sections. Start at the ends of the hair sections and carefully roll her hair up toward her scalp, then fold the ends of the soft curler together so they hold in her hair. Soft curlers are ideal for babies since they are gentle enough and do not require heat.
6. Remove the curlers once the hair is completely dry. To speed up the hair drying process, blow-dry her hair on a low heat setting to avoid burning her scalp.
