Make Loop Hair Bows
Creating your own hair bows is a good way to save money and show the individuality of the person wearing it. Simple loop hair bows can be made for little girls to wear. These are easy enough to make that you can create one for any occasion the little girl in your life can dream up. Take some time and make them together.
Instructions
1. Cut four 10-inch pieces of ribbon.
2. Form the pieces into rings and overlap the ends by a 1/2 inch. Hot glue the ends together.
3. Stand your ring up with the seam on the work surface. Place a dot of glue inside the ring on the seam, and press the top down onto it. Repeat this for the other rings. This will form the loops.
4. Put a small dot of glue in the center of one of the loops. Place another loop across it to form an X. Repeat this for the other pair.
5. Put a small dot of glue in the center of one of the Xs. Place the other X on top of the glue, seam side down.
6. Cut three pieces of ribbon about 5 inches long.
7. Place a small dab of glue in the center of one of the ribbon pieces. Place another piece of ribbon across it to form a wide X.
8. Put glue in the center of the new ribbon X. Place the stacked loops on top of it. Make sure the legs of the flat X are extending from the sides.
9. Remove the inner spring from the barrette blank, and place some hot glue on the center. Place the bow on top of the barrette.
10. Apply some glue to the back of the barrette, and put an end of the last piece of ribbon onto the glue.
11. Wrap the ribbon around the barrette and the bow twice. Apply some more glue, and attach the remaining end of the ribbon.
12. Arrange your loops so that they are full. Trim the ends of the straight ribbons at a slant.
