Baby and infant hair is so smooth and soft that it looks nice no matter what you do to it. Due to the lack of texture, it's usually very hard to get hair bows and clips to stay in baby hair. If you have a little girl and want to place adorable little bow clippies in her hair, you can make your own that will stay put in any type of hair. You can use any color or pattern ribbon and make these clippies for all of her outfits.
Instructions
1. Cut three pieces of ribbon with scissors. The pieces should be four inches long, three inches long and one and three-quarters inches long.
2. Squeeze the alligator clip so it is fully open and insert the four-inch long piece of ribbon. The ribbon should stick out of the clip.
3. Apply a bead of glue from a glue gun along the top prong of the clip and immediately fold the ribbon hanging out over the glue. Press the ribbon against the glue so it seeps down to the ribbon inside the clip.
4. Fold the extra ribbon down around to the underside of the two arms of the clip. The arms are what you squeeze to open the prongs of the clip. Glue the ribbon in place to the bottom of the lower arm and trim the excess.
5. Form a circle with the three-inch piece of ribbon and glue it so it stays in a circle.
6. Place a dot of glue in the middle along the top prong and press the seam of the ribbon circle into the glue. Both the clip and the ribbon circle should be horizontal.
7. Make a dot of glue inside the circle and on top of the seam. Quickly press down the top of the circle into the glue so the ribbon forms two equal loops.
8. Open the alligator clip and place a dot of glue to the underside of the upper prong. The dot should be in the middle of the length of the prong.
9. Press one end of the one and three-quarter inch ribbon into the glue so the ribbon is perpendicular to the clip prong.
10. Wrap the ribbon over the top of the prong so it crosses the looped ribbon, bringing it back down to the glued end. Glue the loose end of the ribbon in place on the underside of the upper prong and trim the excess.
