Make Bandana Headbands

Turn the bandana around so the knot sits at the top of your head like a bow.

Make a statement with a bandana headband. Bandanas are useful to keep your hair out of your eyes and to make a fashion statement. They come in a rainbow of colors and designs to choose from, are inexpensive and available at retailers nationwide. Most bandanas are a one-size-fits-all size, but can be found in larger or smaller sizes. Look for a bandana that suits your style to wrap around your head as a headband.

Instructions

Thin Headband

1. Lay the bandana on a flat surface and turn so it resembles a diamond. Fold one corner diagonally across the bandana to the other corner to create a triangle shape.

2. Fold the bandana from the long side of the triangle to the pointed end. Estimate one inch of width per each fold until the bandana reaches the point.

3. Center the bandana to the top of your forehead and wrap the sides around your head. Tie the two ends together at the nape of your neck using a double knot.

4. Adjust the bandana on your head so it is centered. If the point end of the bandana is sticking out then tuck it under the bandana between the fabric and your head.

5. Create a different look than the traditional headband by turning the headband to place the knot of the bandana in the top center, or on the side of your head.

Thick Headband

6. Fold the bandana from corner to corner to resemble a large triangle. The triangle should be even before placing it on your head.

7. Pick the bandana up and place it on your head. The long side of the triangle will be even with your forehead and the point of the triangle will face towards the back of your head.

8. Pull the sides of the bandana down and tie at the nape of your neck.

9. Adjust the bandana so your hair is tucked under the front of the bandana for a clean look. Ladies can pull bangs out of the front of the bandana and side-sweep them to the side for a feminine look.
