Make Use Of A Metal Bow String Loop

Archery tournaments are won and loss by fractions of an inch.

Nearly 90 percent of all tournament and novice archers use a mechanical release aid. A mechanical release aid can be a string or a metal loop. What determines the use of metal or string mechanical release aid is noise and accuracy. Personal preference is the determining factor of whether you choose string or metal. The metal bow string loop is heavier and affixes to the bowstring with metal clamps. No matter which you prefer a mechanical release aid certainly can't hurt when you realize that fractions of an inch measure success or failure.

Instructions

1. Set the arrow so that the shaft and nock are perfectly horizontal in the center of the bow. Find the center by setting the shaft of the arrow on the arrow rest on the bow. The nock is "V" shaped and the "V" cradles the string.

2. Mark the bowstring with colored chalk 1/4 inch above and below where the nock cradles the string. The clamps of the metal loop fasten to the bowstring at these chalk markings. Put them in place using the screws and a Philips screwdriver.

3. Take the metal loop and attach it to the clamps with the screws provided. Adjust the metal loop so it fits the size of the nocks on your arrows. You do this by turning the screws on the clamps clockwise and counterclockwise.

4. Adjust the anti-vibration screws in the same manner as the clamps, clockwise and counterclockwise. Remember the metal loop is heavier than the string loop, making adjusting critical for an accurate shot.
