Korker ribbons look great in any girl's hair.
Curly ribbon, also known as korker ribbon, is made when the ribbon is "baked" in an oven while wrapped tightly around a dowel. The result is that the ribbon is permanently formed in a spiral curl. These ribbons can then be made into simple hair bows or hair ties to be worn any time. These kinds of bows are often used as a cheerleading or gymnastics hair accessory for younger girls. However, they can be worn by any girl at any time.
Instructions
1. Lay the elastic string on a flat surface. Place 12 ribbons directly on top of the string.
2. Lay ten of the ribbons on top of the 12, then stack the remaining eight ribbons on top of the middle stack.
3. Pull up on the elastic string, holding it taut. Bring the two ends together and tie the string into a tight double-knot. When the string has been tied, the ribbons will bunch together and fluff out, looking like a pom-pom.
4. Cut any excess string ends off so they cannot be seen.
5. Leave the bow the way it is to use it as decoration or as a bow for on top of a present, or slide a bobby pin or hair barrette through the bottom of the elastic string (where the double-knot is). Use the pin or barrette to attach the hair bow to your hair.
6. Make the bow into a hair tie. Repeat Steps 1 and 2. When pulling the elastic string on both sides (Step 3), slide a hair tie onto one end of the string. Tie the string into a tight double-knot and the hair tie will be attached to the string. Cut off the string's excess ends. Pull the hair back into a ponytail and use the ribbon bow hair tie to keep the hair in place.
