Make Homemade Stiff Hair Gel
Hair gels sold in stores often contain harsh chemicals and preservatives that can damage your hair. Fortunately, you can make stiff hair gel at home with just a few basic ingredients. Making your own hair gel will save you money and allow you to customize the thickness and fragrance to suit your tastes. By combining unflavored gelatin with warm water, you will be able to create your own homemade hair gel in less than 15 minutes.
Instructions
1. Pour 1 cup of warm water into a bowl.
2. Add ½ tsp. of unflavored gelatin to the water, and stir with a spoon until it dissolves.
3. Add more gelatin, ½ tsp. at a time, and stir until you reach the desired consistency. The thicker you make the hair gel, the stiffer it will become in your hair.
4. Add essential oil to the hair gel with an eyedropper to add fragrance. Stir well.
5. Place leftover hair gel in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Discard the hair gel after one week, once it begins crusting over and its thickness depletes.
