Make Easter & Spring Hair Bows for Girls
Hair bows make any little girls hair 'do look adorable. If you go to any children's clothing store you may spend quite a bit of money on just one hair bow. Instead of wasting your money, you can make your hair bow. Making your hair bow gives you the freedom to match any outfit, holiday or outing. To make an Easter or spring hair bow, you can purchase some light pastel ribbon and garnish it with a fun bead. Purchasing a whole spool of ribbon will give you enough material to make several bows.
Instructions
1. Lay the hair clip flat, and add a strip of fabric glue to the top of the clip.
2. Place the middle of a 16-inch (length) piece of ribbon to the glue. Hold down with your fingers, so it adheres.
Purchase the ribbon in a springy pastel color.
3. Wait at least four hours before starting the bow to allow the glue to dry completely.
4. Take both ends of the bow (to avoid confusion, the the right side with be "A" and the left side will be "B") and crisscross them, so side B is on top of side A.
5. Bring side A over B, then loop it under. Hold both ends, so that B is facing upwards and A downwards.
6. Fold A into a loop (the first part of the bow), and hold it as you twist B around it. Pull B through the loop in the back too for the second part of the bow. Pull on both loops to tighten the bow. Should the ends of the bow be slightly uneven, cut them with a pair of scissors to make them match.
7. Add a drop of glue to the middle of the bow. Place a flat bead in the design that you like (Easter egg, Easter bunny, spring time flowers) on top of the glue. Hold the bead there for 10 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the bow to dry completely.
Once dried, the bow can be clipped into the hair, clipped on the side of a head band or clipped onto the top of a hair tie.
