Make your own hair ornaments with different colored beads.
Beaded hair ornaments looks beautiful in any style or color hair. If you've been searching for a special hair ornament, you may have found that they can be very expensive or don't come in the specific color that you're looking for. Instead of searching for the perfect hair ornament, learn make your own. Not only is making these beaded hair pins a satisfying craft, but the total cost of the project is under $10--and there will be enough material to make several different hair ornaments.
Instructions
1. Hold the bobby pin in your non-dominant hand so that the rounded end is facing up.
2. Thread the beading wire through the rounded end of the bobby pin. Adjust the wire so there is an even amount of wire on each side of the end of the pin.
3. Hold one bead so that the hole through the bead is facing out the sides--you should not be able to see the hole while holding the bead.
4. Thread the left side of the wire into the left hole and out the right hole. Then, thread the right side of the wire into the right hole and out the left hole. The wire ends will have crisscrossed inside of the bead. Pull on each wire end to tighten the bead to the bobby pin.
5. Adjust the bead, if necessary, so that is lays flat onto the bobby pin. Again, the holes should be facing out the sides. Repeat with the next bead.
6. After the bead is threaded and tightened, make sure it sits right in front of the first bead threaded. Continue to do this until the entire bobby pin has beads running down its length. Feel free to rotate colors, use all the same color or use all completely different colors to give your ornament a different look.
7. Wrap the wires around the end of the bobby pin to secure the beads. Insert the end of the wires back through the last bead. Cut the end of the wires using a pair of wire cutters.
