A hair clip holder puts clips on display and makes them easy to choose and harder to loose.
It can be time consuming to search for a pair of hair clips to accessorize an outfit searching though a box or drawer of clips. A hair clip holder puts all of the clips together and on display so that it is easy to choose the perfect one. The base of the hair clip holder can vary but the basic form is a head shape full of yarn hair. With the basic form you can be creative with the design and decoration of a hair clip holder.
Instructions
1. Place a picture of a face in the wood frame. You can use a large picture of just the face or draw a picture of a face and place the drawing in the frame.
2. Cut long strands of the yarn to serve as hair. The strands should be at least 2 1/2 feet, but length depends on the desired length of the braids that will hold the clips. Consider that the yarn strands will be shorter when braided.
3. Glue a strand of yarn to the top of the oval frame and down the side 4 to 5 inches using the hot glue gun. The beginning of the yarn on the top of the frame will serve as the part in the yarn hair so it can be in the middle or off to the side if desired.
4. Add more strands of yarn with the hot glue gun on both sides of the part until you have enough to make a 1-inch braid on each side of the frame.
5. Tie the yarn hair on each side in ponytails using the rubber bands. Braid each ponytail and secure the braid with a rubber band about four inches before the end of the yarn hair.
6. Hang the frame on the the wall and affix larger clips along the length of the braids and smaller clips on the loose yarns at the bottom of the braids.
