Weave thin ribbon quickly and easily through the bars of a barrette.
Barrettes are used by girls and women of all ages and are perfect to keep your hair out of your eyes and off of your face. You can find a variety of barrettes at any drugstore or beauty supply store, but regular plastic or metal bar clips all look the same. Add ribbons to give barrettes some flare, color and fun. By using two different colored ribbons, you can create a woven look around the entire barrette.
Instructions
1. Lay the pink ribbon on top of the yellow ribbon.
2. Slide the ribbons through the very top of the barrette -- the opposite end of where the barrette opens. Ensure there is an even amount of ribbon on either side of the barrette.
3. Fold the right, pink side of the ribbon over the first bar of the barrette so the yellow side shows. Slide the ribbons under the left bar of the barrette. Both ribbons will be on the left side of the barrette, but one ribbon will still be pink-side up and the second ribbon yellow-side up.
4. Fold the left, pink side of the ribbon over the left bar of the barrette so the yellow side shows. Slide the ribbon under the right bar of the barrette. The ribbons will now be on each side of the barrette again, with the yellow-side up.
5. Continue to weave the ribbons through the bars of the barrette until the entire barrette is woven with ribbons.
6. Thread the very end of the ribbon on the right side of the barrette over the right bar and under the left bar of the barrette. Both ribbons will now be on the left side of the barrette.
7. Cut the ends of the ribbons to even them out.
