Make a Basic Baby Headband
Most babies aren't born with a lot of hair, definitely not enough to require a headband to keep it out of their eyes. That doesn't mean, however, that baby headbands are pointless. Most babies aren't obviously boy or girl just by looking at them, so parents may decide to dress their baby in pink or blue to try and make their child's gender obvious. Some people will still mistake a girl for a boy. This is where headbands come in handy. A headband wrapped around a baby girl's head is hard to miss, making her gender hard to mistake.
Instructions
1. Measure around your child's head. Cut one leg of the tights so it is 1 inch longer than the child's head measurement starting from the toe of the tights.
2. Fold the length of tight leg in half. Sew the ends together with a 1/2-inch inseam. Trim the inseam down to 1/4 inch.
3. Cut a 1 1/2-inch length of ribbon. Heat both ends of the ribbon with a lighter to seal them.
4. Wrap the ribbon around the seam of the headband to hide it. Secure the ribbon ends to each other with a dot of hot glue. Trim any excess ribbon if necessary. You want the ribbon tight enough so it will stay in place over the seam.
