Keep your daughter's hair back with some homemade hair clips.
Most girls like to wear colorful clips in their hair. They can become loose, fall out and be lost forever--then you'll have to go back to the store and pay another $7 to $12 for some new ones. Instead of going through all that hassle, you can purchase inexpensive plain clips and use the materials you have right at home to make new and different clips. With a little supervision, even younger girls will have a blast making their own glitter hair clips.
Instructions
1. Lay a sheet of wax paper onto a hard surface. This will prevent any nail polish from spilling or dripping onto work area.
2. Paint the entire hair clip using any colored nail polish. The brighter the nail polish color, the better. Allow about 10 minutes for the hair clip to dry, then add a second coat of polish.
3. Sprinkle craft glitter directly onto the hair clip while the second coat of nail polish is still drying.
4. Set the clip down and allow it to thoroughly dry for about 1 hour.
5. Polish the top of the hair clip with clear nail polish. This will ensure that the glitter stays on the clip without flaking off.
6. Set the clips aside and let them dry for another hour before placing them in your hair.
