Minnie Mouse Birthday Celebration Invitation Ideas

Minnie Mouse is a fun-loving theme that calls for some fun invitations. Minnie Mouse invitations, birthday cards and thank-you cards can be purchased at many drugstores and department stores or through online vendors. However, if you're crafty, you might want to consider making your own.

Minnie's Purse

Making a Minnie Mouse purse invitation is an adorable way to welcome guests, while setting the tone for a feminine day of girly fun. Fold a 12" x 12" piece of black and white polka dotted scrapbooking paper into three sections, bringing the top section down two inches and folding the remaining part of the bottom in half, so that the sections are both five inches tall. Trim the top corners off, so that the purse is shaped like an isosceles trapezoid. Round the edges if you wish. Decorate the purse with a pink or red ribbon trim and record the pertinent party details on the inside of the purse. For decoration, add a ribbon or beaded handle and a decorative button to the outside.

Minnie's Clubhouse

Make Minnie's Clubhouse invitations. Buy plain white card stock greeting cards and cover the front panel with decorative corrugated cardboard. You can find the decorative cardboard at scrapbooking supply stores. The pleats are much thinner than the ones in industrial strength corrugated cardboard. Cut an arched or squared door from the front cover and re-attach it by stitching an X in two places. Brown thread or twine works well for this. Then, using a popsicle stick trimmed down to 3 inches long, make a sign that says "Minnie's Clubhouse" above the door. On the inside of the card, where the door opens, write "come inside" and include the rest of the party details on the inside of the card.

Minnie Mouse Head

Using black construction paper, trace and then cut a Minnie Mouse head. You can use a cereal bowl and two drinking glasses to get the perfect shape and size. When you're done, fold it in half and decorate the outside with stickers. Place a few large white mailing labels on the inside of the invitation, to reveal the party details. Cover it all with pink or red polka dots.
