When you make your own curled ribbons, you can choose whatever colors you like best.
Curly ribbons add some color and fun to gift wrapping, party decorations or even in your hair. Instead of purchasing these curly ribbons, known as korker ribbons, you can easily make them yourself using grosgrain ribbon and your oven. By "baking" the ribbons in the oven, you can create the perfectly curled look of korker ribbons. Then, tie them to presents, create pompom balls with the curly ribbon, or glue them to a hair barrette to be worn in your hair.
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to "Bake" at 275 degrees.
2. Attach your grosgrain ribbon to the top of a wooden dowel with a clothespin.
3. Wrap the ribbon around the dowel, and secure the bottom of the ribbon to the dowel with another clothespin.
4. Snip off any ribbon that hangs past the dowel. Wrap as many ribbons around each dowel as you need.
5. Place all of the dowels onto a cookie sheet, and place the cookie sheet into the hot oven.
6. Bake the ribbons for 25 minutes, then take them out once time's up.
7. Allow the ribbons to completely cool before handling. Remove each ribbon from the dowel, and use them as you wish.
