The Sims 2" is the second installment in Maxis' simulated life series. The game features improvements in character appearance, movement and life aspirations. "The Sims 2" is a highly customizable game, with users downloading and creating their own skins, objects and houses. The Sims Body Shop is a separate program that can be used to import and export textures. You must export a texture from the Body Shop in order to recolor it.
Instructions
1. Open The Sims Body Shop. Go to Start/Programs/EA Games/The Sims 2/The Sims 2 Body Shop.
2. Click "Create Parts," then "Start a New Project."
3. Select "Create Genetics." Select the head shape. Choose the hairstyle you wish to recolor. Click "Export Texture" at the bottom of the hairstyle screen.
4. Name your folder and save it to your desired location. By default, texture files are saved to My Documents.
5. Open your graphics-editing software. Open the folder you have saved in Step 5. Inside, you will see several image files. Open the file you wish to recolor. There will be several files for each hair mesh in order to compensate for the different angles and zooms of the game. Keep in mind that the folder will have the hair mesh for all ages (toddler, child, teen, adult and elder) so if you want the hair for all ages, you will have to modify each file.
6. Recolor the hair using your graphics-editing program's brush or hue adjustment tool. Save your changes.
7. Open Body Shop again. Click on the hairstyle you originally exported. Hover over the image and select "Import." Choose your saved folder. Your new hair mesh will be imported into Body Shop.
