Store Children'S Hair Add-ons

Hair accessories of all sorts need organization.

If you have girls, hair accessories are a fact of life. Little girls seem to come from the womb with a collection of baby hair clips and toddler hair bows.

When they get a little older, they seem to leave a stream of hair ribbons and hair elastics everywhere they go. Before long, children's hair accessories can begin to take over your child's bedroom, the bathroom and any other available space.

Before you drown in your children's hair accessories, get a handle on them. Learn some storage strategies and corral those hair clips and barrettes.

Instructions

1. Attach hair bows, barrettes and hair clips to a length of ribbon fastened to the wall or back of a closet door with fancy tacks.

2. Store headbands on empty 3-liter bottles filled about 1/3 full with water. Add a decorative touch by including some food coloring, a cup of vegetable oil and glitter.

3. Store hair scrunchies on empty 1-liter bottles filled about 1/3 full with water. Add a decorative touch by including some food coloring, a cup of vegetable oil and glitter.

4. Slip hair ties over empty paper towel or toilet paper rolls. If desired, cover the cardboard tubes with fabric to match your decor. Simply cut a rectangle of fabric and glue it onto the tube with school glue or tacky glue.

5. Stretch a length of ribbon or piece of elastic across the back of the closet door to store hair ribbons. Simply fold the ribbons over the taut ribbon or elastic.

6. Store tiny hair clips in plastic ice cube trays.

7. Use a pretty vintage tin or ceramic box to hold hair pins.
