The Teton Classic is a bow used for target and hunting purposes.
Alpine Archery produces a series of recurve and compound bows designed for hunting and target purposes. Among these bows is the company's Teton line. The line includes an older model called the Teton Classic. Tetons are compound bows that have pulleys -- also called cams -- that provide mechanical advantage to the bow's draw and release.
Wheels and Strings
The wheels and strings of a Teton Classic vary depending on the size of the bow. The wheels -- the cams, or pulleys -- are between 28 and 31 inches. The bow strings that accompany the cams are between 37 3/8 and 44 inches. When the mechanical advantage is applied, this gives the Teton Classic bow draw weights of 50, 60 or 70 lbs.
Limb/Shaft Size
Limb/shaft sizes range from 34 3/4 to 40 inches. Larger users, or those with more arm strength, should use larger-sized shafts. A limb also is called a bow shaft. With some compound bows, such as the Teton, two limbs comprise the full shaft, with the handle between the limbs.
Limb Style
The Teton Classic has parallel limbs made of either one or two pieces of rosewood. The wood adds extra flex to the bow shaft during draw and release, as well as strength from the wood's fibers. Options for the limb finish include mossy oak treestand, vader black, silver candy apple red, silver, and black and camouflage combo.
