Make the perfect bow every time.
Bows look great on gift packaging, headbands, hair ties, Christmas ornaments and in many more places. The problem with most bows is that, if the ends of the bows are pulled, the bow is gone. Instead of having to retie the bow every time, sew the ribbon shut. This way, the bow can be reused for anything you want but it will never have to be retied, and it will never unravel either.
Instructions
1. Lay the ribbon down onto a flat surface. Place the pencil, lying perpendicular, on the ribbon. Make sure the pencil is in the middle of the ribbon.
2. Tie the ribbon into a knot around the pencil to create a loop in the back of the ribbon.
3. Tie the ribbon into a simple bow while it is still attached to the pencil. Even the bottom ends of the ribbon by cutting off any excess ribbon. Slide the ribbon off the pencil.
4. Thread your needle. Ensure that the thread is the same color as the ribbon. Tie the end of the thread into a knot.
5. Insert the needle through the very center of the bottom of the ribbon. Ensure that you do not sew the loop shut. Pull the needle up through the top of the ribbon. Insert the needle back into the ribbon, pulling it out through the back. Do this five times to ensure the ribbon bow is sewn closed.
6. Tie the thread into a knot and cut off excess thread. You can slide the ribbon bow onto a thin headband or hair clip to be placed in the hair; slide it onto ribbon to be used a gift packaging; even decorate your Christmas tree with several sewn bows.
