Turn bottle caps into jewelry using craft supplies.
Color-coordinated hair bows are one way to accessorize a young girl's outfit, but the bows sold at children's clothing stores or toy stores are often pricey. Instead of buying commercially produced hair bows, you can make whimsical bows for your child using craft materials and objects that can be found around the house.
Instructions
1. Cut a piece of 2-inch-wide ribbon to measure 12 inches long.
2. Tie the ribbon into a bow.
3. Paint the top of a bottle cap using acrylic paint. Let the paint air dry.
4. Squeeze a line of glitter glue over the top of the bottle cap in a pattern, such as a swirl or a spiral. Let the glue dry.
5. Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug the hot glue gun into an outlet to heat up.
6. Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the knot of the bow, and press the bottle cap onto the hot glue with the top facing up. Let the glue cool.
7. Squeeze a line of hot glue onto the top of a metal barrette, and press the bottom of the bow onto the hot glue. Let the glue cool.
