Little frog trinkets can serve as a cute accessory for a hair bow.
Crafting hair bows can be moderately simple especially when using a frog as your design template. Using lightweight frog trinkets or appliques, you can create cute bow barrettes or extravagant bowed hair bands for your hair. Simply sew or hot glue your frog design onto a bow of your choice and you will have a frog hair bow all your own.
Instructions
1. Purchase a medium size, plain metal hair clip from a pharmacy or beauty supply store.
2. Choose a frog trinket or applique. Both can be purchased at a local craft or jewelry store and should be small and lightweight; heavy items will not stay secure.
3. Plug in your hot glue gun to heat, then place a sheet of newspaper down on a flat surface.
4. Craft a bow using any color ribbon of your choice. Tie the ribbon in a simple bow, layered bow or bow with extra tails. Bows can be simple and tied with one piece of ribbon, extravagant or a bow you have purchased from a specialty store(See Resource 1 and 2).
5. Pump a small dot of hot glue onto the back of the bow. Then, press the top side of the metal clip into the dab of glue, parallel to the ribbons two side loops. Apply equal pressure to both sides for one minute.
6. Hot glue your frog trinket or applique to your bow. With the bow facing you, pump a small dot of hot glue onto the center of the bow or knot. Press the back of the frog or applique into the glue and apply pressure for one minute; the frog should be facing you. Let rest for five minutes and your bow will be ready to wear.
