Curling ribbon adds color and style to gift wrapping.
Curling ribbon is an affordable way to dress up gifts for any occasion. Because curling ribbon is available in such a wide variety of colors, it is possible to coordinate the ribbon to the wrapping paper or occasion of the gift. Use several strands of the same color or use more than one color fastened together to make a more colorful look. Personalize the wrapping even further by tying a small trinket to the package with the curling ribbon, such as a candy cane, key chain or bracelet.
Instructions
1. Measure the length of curling ribbon needed by wrapping it from its spool around your gift. If you want to have ribbon on all four sides of the gift, wrap it around the gift, twist it into a cross (or "+" sign) and wrap it around the gift the other way. Add at least six more inches to the length for the ribbon's tails and cut.
2. Cut several lengths of ribbon using the first length as a guide. Use three or four strands of ribbon for a large package and one or two for a smaller package.
3. Hold all of the strands of ribbon together, and center them on the front of the gift. Wrap the ribbon around the gift, meeting in the middle of the back of the gift. Twist the ribbon to form a cross shape, and wrap it back around to the front of the gift, this time wrapping it around the sides of the gift that don't have ribbon around them yet.
4. Tie the ends of the ribbon in a knot at the center of the front of the gift.
5. Leave the ribbons to hang loose from the knot, or create a curly bow. Make a curly bow by running each loose strand of the ribbon along the sharp edge of the scissors, making it curl.
