Create impressive bows with the EZ Bow Maker.
Christmas, birthdays and other special occasions call for wrapped gifts with special bows on top, but premium bows can cost much more than you want to pay. The EZ Bow Maker is a simple-looking gadget that allows you to make multi-layered bow for all of your wrapping and decorating needs. The EZ Bow Maker is basically a flat piece of plastic with two dowels sticking up from the center. By twisting ribbon pieces and inserting them between the dowels, you can create fluffy bows in many different styles.
Instructions
1. Cut a piece of florist wire 16 inches long. Lay the wire on top of the bow maker platform between the two dowels, with an equal amount of wire on either side.
2. Slip the ribbon between the two dowels with one end of the ribbon hanging off the end of the platform. This is the free end of the ribbon. Give the ribbon a half-twist right before slipping it between the dowels. Keep the rolled end of the ribbon in your hand.
3. Unroll the ribbon until you reach the measurement for your desired ribbon loop size. The platform is marked from 1 to 8 inches to show how large your loops will be. When the ribbon reaches the desired marking, turn the ribbon back toward the center dowels, making a loop at the marked point.
4. Give the ribbon a half-twist and slip it between the dowels. Unroll the ribbon to reach the marked spot on the other half of the platform, and turn it back on itself to create a second loop.
5. Continue making loops of the desired size until your bow is as large as you want it to be. Fluff up the loops to give the bow volume.
6. Pull the two ends of the florist wire up between all the loops and pull the wire and ribbon off the bow maker all together. Twist the ribbon tightly to finish the bow. Move the loops around, if needed, to create an oval or round look to your bow.
