Ribbon can be folded into a shape for almost any holiday, occasion or theme and then attached to a clip to be used as a hair bow. A pine tree for Christmas, ladybugs and even turkeys are all examples of the different shapes you can make with ribbon for festive hair bows. Make a fitting hair bow for Halloween or a girl interested in bugs by using black ribbon to make a spider hair bow.
Instructions
1. Measure and cut four 8-inch lengths of ribbon. Fold the ends of each length of ribbon in to the center so that they overlap by 1/2 inch. Secure the overlapped ends in the middle with a few button stitches sewn with needle and thread.
2. Stack the ribbon loops so they cross each other in the middle and are fanned out to look like spider legs. Use dots of hot glue to secure the loops to each other.
3. Attach a 1-inch-diameter black button to the middle of the ribbon stack with hot glue for the body of the spider.
4. Glue two craft eyes to the top of the button for the spider's eyes.
5. Cut a strip of ribbon long enough to cover the top of the alligator clip. Use a line of hot glue to secure the ribbon to the top of the clip.
6. Glue the spider to the top of the alligator clip.
