Print On Serviettes

Napkins emblazoned with a monogram or a design can add a personalized touch to a table setting. The easiest do-it-yourself method for adding prints to paper napkins is by using a wooden or rubber stamp. For a distinctive and memorable look, you can also have a rubber stamp custom-made with a unique design, although this will add to the cost of the project.

1. Choose a wooden or rubber stamp with the letters or designs that you would like to feature on your napkins. For a birthday party, your napkins might feature balloons; wedding napkins could feature bells or the initials of the bride and groom. If you prefer to use your own design, order a custom-made rubber stamp online. Small- or medium-sized images tend to work well.

2. Select a dye-based ink in the color that suits your taste or decor. Dye-based inks are recommended over pigmented ink because they dry faster and the ink will not bleed. Pigmented inks have a tendency to bleed onto other surfaces, including skin and tablecloths.

3. Press the stamp onto the ink pad two or three times to ensure that the designed area of the stamp is completely covered with ink.

4. Firmly press the rubber stamp directly onto the section of the napkin that you want to print. The best place for a design on a napkin is near the edge of a fold, or in the center of the napkin after it has been folded. Apply adequate pressure to ensure that the entire print impression is made on the napkin.

5. Quickly and carefully lift the stamp off of the napkin to avoid smudging. Apply fresh ink to the rubber stamp before you print each napkin.
