Graduation is a time for celebration and a personalized basket commemorating the occasion is an ideal gift with an unlimited range of ideas. Fill the basket with an assortment of gifts and novelty items selected especially for the graduate. From gourmet cookies and favorite snacks to a photo collage highlighting friends and special events, a homemade graduation basket has unlimited possibilities as a thoughtful and memorable gift.
Instructions
1. Create a work space by placing the basket, gift items, decorative supplies and accessories on a convenient table or countertop.
2. Fill the basket to the rim with artificial grass or colorful tissue paper shredded or cut into short, thin strips.
3. Place the tallest gift items along the back rim of the basket. Continue adding smaller items to the center portion all the way to the front rim of the basket.
4. Arrange the items in a visually appealing manner within the basket. Add additional artificial grass or tissue paper between items to secure them in place.
5. Open the gift basket bag and place the basket inside. Pull the bag up until the bag is snug around the basket and then secure the neck of the bag with the twist tie leaving several inches of bag above the tie.
6. Cut a piece of ribbon and tie around the neck of the bag and over the twist tie. Add additional ribbons to create a bow.
