It's easy to make beautiful hair bows out of simple ribbon.
A hair bow adds femininity and a finished touch to your appearance in any outfit, even jeans. You can make your own hair bow easily out of cloth ribbon, then attach it to a clip or tie it directly onto a ponytail. The wider the bow, the harder it is to tie, so use ribbon that is between 1 and 2 inches in width.
Instructions
1. Measure and cut an 18-inch length of ribbon.
2. Make a diagonal cut on both ends of the ribbon.
3. Brush your hair into a ponytail and hold it in place with an elastic hair band.
4. Hold the ribbon with one end in each hand. Scoop up the ponytail from underneath with the ribbon so that the two strands are perpendicular to the ground, the ends pointing up.
5. Tie the strands together once, firmly against the pony tail.
6. Make a loop with the left piece and pinch it between the thumb and forefinger of your left hand.
7. Wrap the right strand around the base of the looped strand, just like when you tie shoelaces.
8. Push the loose strand through the wrapped section in the form of a second loop and pull it until it is as long as the first loop, tightening the base as you go.
9. Tug the loops gently until they are even and tightly secured.
