Go from snooze to snazzy with curling ribbon.
Ribbons embellish packages, hold ornaments on the Christmas tree, brighten a wreath and add a splash of color to hair ornaments. Korker ribbon hair clips and bows give a little extra swing to a hair style, while adding a fluff of curling ribbon gives your present some pizzazz when you don't have time to make a flat or wired ribbon design project.
Instructions
Curly Package Ribbons
1. Cut a piece of ribbon about twice as long as the desired length for the curl.
2. Hold the ribbon flat against the blade of a pair of scissors. Press the ribbon to the blade with your thumb.
3. Pull the scissors down the length of the ribbon.
Starched Korker Hair Ribbons
4. Cut the ribbon about twice to three times the length you want for the final curl.
5. Place one end of the ribbon on the wooden dowel and secure it with a clothespin.
6. Wrap the ribbon around the dowel tightly. Clip the end to the dowel with a clothespin.
7. Spray the ribbon with spray starch, saturating it completely, but not to the point of dripping.
8. Allow the starch to dry before you remove the clothespins and dowels.
Baked Korker Hair Ribbons
9. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
10. Cut the ribbon to double or triple the length of the final product.
11. Secure the end of the ribbon to a dowel with a clothespin.
12. Wrap the dowel with the ribbon and hold the end to the dowel with another clothespin.
13. Place the wrapped dowel on a baking sheet.
14. Put the sheet in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
15. Allow the ribbons to cool, and then remove the clothespins and the dowel.
