Make Lengthy Hair In "Modnation Racers"

"ModNation Racers" -- or MNR -- is a kart racing game released for the Sony PlayStation 3 in 2010. With an emphasis on user-generated content, MNR players can edit tracks, karts and characters with a wide variety of creation tools and collectibles. Although the game has a number of hairstyles to choose from, there is no option for adding long hair to a character's head. But by arranging certain decorative items in a specific way, it is possible to create the illusion of long hair.

Instructions

1. Highlight the "Head" option from within the "Modnation Racers" character editing screen. Press the "X" button to open the Head menu.

2. Press "R2" four times to enter the Facial Hair menu. Highlight one of the long beard items, and press the "X" button to add it to your character. Press "Triangle" to enter the Advanced Edit menu.

3. Use the left analog stick to position the beard on top of your character's head. Press the "R2" button to access the Scale tool. Use the left analog stick to adjust the size of the beard, making it as large as possible. Press the "R2" button to access the Rotate tool. Use the left analog stick to rotate the beard 180 degrees. Press the "R2" button to access the Move tool. Use the left analog stick to move the beard to the back of your character's head.

4. Continue using the tools in the advanced edit screen until you are satisfied with the hair's position, scale and rotation. Use the right analog stick to change the camera angle, so you can see how your character looks from behind. Press "Circle" to return to the main character creation menu.

5. Highlight "Odds 'n Ends," and press the "X" button. Select "Add New Prop" from the Odds 'n Ends menu to open the list of props.

6. Scroll down to the Hair section of props. Highlight the ponytail prop, and press the "X" button to select it.

7. Use the Move, Scale and Rotate tools as before, to arrange the hair on your character's head. Press the "X" button to add the ponytail prop to your character, and return to the main Odds 'n Ends menu.

8. Select "Add New Prop" to continue adding additional ponytail items to your character's head. Position the ponytails so that they resemble strands of long hair covering the entire head. Press "Circle" to exit the Odds 'n Ends menu, once you are satisfied with the look of your character's hair.

9. Press "Circle" to save your character, and return to the "Modnation Racers" main menu.
