Abby Cadabby Birthday Celebration Ideas

Host an Abby Cadabby party for your fairy-in-training.

Abby Cadabby, a popular character on the children's show "Sesame Street," is a fairy-in-training with a spunky personality. From doing magic with her wand to singing her favorite songs, Abby Cadabby is a relatable character children enjoy. A party theme involving Abby must include the color pink, magic and a day filled with fairy activities and crafts.

Decorations

Décor for your Abby Cadabby birthday party should include the colors pink, light blue, lavender and yellow, since they are commonly associated with the character. Streamers, balloons and flowers in colorful varieties can help set the scene for this fairy-in-training party. Create a whimsical setting by hanging paper flowers and butterflies from the ceiling. Sprinkle the party tables with fairy dust created with confetti. Use sparkling, white holiday lights to create soft lighting for the party. Create lollipop bouquet centerpieces using decorative pails filled with gumballs. Stick large, assorted color lollipops in each pail.

Invitations

Dress your fairy-in-training in her favorite Abby Cadabby shirt or purchase a tutu, fairy wings and hair accessories that are similar to Abby Cadabby's attire. Take a picture and use it to create a personalized invitation for your child's birthday party. Use Abby's favorite phrase, "That's so magic," in the invitation wording. Another invitation option is to create a magic wand using poster board and craft sticks. Cut the poster board into star shapes that are large enough to fit party details. Attach a craft stick to a card after you write the party information.

Food

Your fairy-in-training menu can include fresh fruits and vegetables served with dipping sauces. Serve small sandwiches filled with egg salad, chicken salad or turkey. For snacks, include animal crackers, marshmallows and an ice cream sundae buffet. Serve cupcakes in the colors yellow, purple, pink and light blue to match the party color scheme. Include the guest of honor's initials on each treat.

Games and Activities

Hire a magician to come and do tricks for your child's Abby Cadabby-themed birthday party. Aside from watching the magic act, party attendees can sing Abby's favorite song, "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and create their own fairy dust using construction paper, scissors and glitter. For a craft activity the kids can take home with them, purchase small, unfinished jewelry boxes from your local craft store, as well as paint, jewels, stencils, markers, stickers and paint brushes. Let each child create a unique jewelry box they can use for years to come.

Favors

Include Abby's pet frog in the party theme by creating frog-shaped cookies to distribute to guests as they leave the party. Other favors can include bubbles, fairy wands, fairy wings and lip-gloss. Give each attendee a necklace with a fairy pendant she can put inside of her jewelry box.
