Make Ribbon Bows For Little Girls' Hair

You can make a child's hairbow out of ribbon.

A ribbon bow in a little girl's hair is a sweet and whimsical way to spruce up an outfit. You can make your own ribbon bows by hand using items you may already have around the house, which will cut costs from purchasing a similar item premade from a child's clothing shop. Homemade bows are versatile as they can be any size or color you like and will be unique enough that no other child will wear a bow just like it.

Instructions

1. Cut three pieces of ribbon the same length--each about 12 inches long. Hold the pieces at equal length and tie them in a knot at the center.

2. Make a loop out of the ribbon pieces at each side of the knot, and tie them in a bow as if you were tying your shoe.

3. Reinforce the tied bow with a dot of glue at the center where the bow's knot is tied.

4. Place a dot of hot glue at the back of the bow and press it onto the center of a plain, plastic barrette. Let dry before wearing.
