A bad haircut can ruin even the best of us. There is no feeling worse than walking out of the salon after paying for that gorgeous haircut you saw in your new magazine, only to realize it looks hideous on you. Or maybe the hairdresser cut it a bit too short. Either way, it's enough to rain on your parade. But you don't have to suffer until it grows out again.
Instructions
1. Assess the damage. What exactly do you dislike about your hair? Is it too short, too layered, or just doesn't look right with your face shape? Figuring out what you don't like will help you to fix the damage, and you'll know what to avoid with your next haircut.
2. Take a shower first and wash your hair. Then follow your normal routine, whether it's blow drying it or letting it air-dry. See what your hair looks like now. Sometimes hair will look completely different when the salon style has been washed out. It may look longer than you first thought.
3. Make your hair appear longer by straightening it. Especially for those with curly or wavy hair, your hair will look much longer if you straighten it. Buy some heat protection spray if you plan to straighten often. Straightening will lengthen your hair. You can also pull the front sections back and clip them with hair bows to keep your hair from looking like one big poofy bob.
4. Consider dyeing your hair to draw attention away from how it makes your face look. Those with pale skin can use a dark brown or black to make the hair seem longer. Highlights that are a few shades lighter than your hair color, or some crazy color like red and purple, can also draw the attention to the color of your hair and not the haircut itself. Best of all, you can do monthly touch-ups on your hair color for as long as it takes your hair to fully grow back out.
