Use multiple thin strips and charms to make festive bows.
If you've got rags and fabric scraps lying around or crowding a drawer or area in your home, try re-purposing them into a bow hair clip to create beautiful pieces for your hair. With a little glue and creativity you can create your own bow hair clips to match any style. So instead of tossing those rags, try saving them and making them useful once again.
Instructions
1. Wash your rag and let it air dry if it is dirty. If you have a small rag you can opt to hand wash it instead of using a whole load in your washer.
2. Cut a strip of fabric from your rag one inch wide and four inches in length. You can vary the measurements depending on how large or small you want your bow. If fabric is wrinkled iron out wrinkles so that it is smooth.
3. Lay your strip of fabric flat and apply a dot of super glue to both ends of your strip of fabric. Fold the ends inward so that they meet in the center of your strip and press down for a few seconds so that glue can adhere properly and both ends are glued to the center of your strip. This is the body of your bow.
4. Apply a few drops of super glue to your button and glue a button over the area where your two glued ends meet. Press down for a few seconds to insure the button properly adheres.
5. Apply glue to the backside of your rag bow and glue the bow to a hair clip of your choosing. Allow glue to dry completely before putting clip in hair.
