Little Bo Peep is a character from a children's nursery rhyme.
Little Bo Peep is a popular nursery rhyme character from an English nursery rhyme written in 1805. Both girls and women can dress as Little Bo Peep. However, it can be hard to find a Little Bo Peep costume to purchase, so if you want to dress up like her you might want to make your costume. Making a Little Bo Peep costume requires little craft skill; you just need to gather a few items from around the house, along with one or two things from the store.
Instructions
1. Find a feminine dress with a full skirt that falls just below the knee. The chest should be fitted. The more girly and old-fashioned the dress looks, the better. Things to look for would be puffy sleeves and lace trim. Get a dress that is preferably baby blue or pink.
2. Wear pantaloons under your dress. The pantaloons should be puffy and ruffled. They should stick out from beneath the dress. White pantaloons work best. Pantaloons can be purchased at a lingerie store, costume shop or online.
3. Put on a puffy bonnet. Tie a bow, made of ribbon that matches your dress, in your hair to the side of the bonnet or below the bonnet in the back of your hair.
4. Wear white ruffle socks and a pair of black Mary Jane dress shoes.
5. Tie ribbon that matches your hair ribbon to your cane or staff. Hold the stuffed lamb with you when you wear the costume because Little Bo Peep was a sheep herder.
