Curly hair

Curly hair often lacks the smooth, glossy texture that straight hair tends to have. The cuticle, or outer layer, of curly hair is rougher, which makes the surface of the hair shaft appear dull. Curly hair is also more susceptible to split ends and broken strands caused by dryness. Sebum, a natural oil that makes hair shiny, is found in lower quantities on curly hair. These characteristics make it difficult to give curly hair a glossy appearance, but it can be done.
Instructions
1. Use a moisturizing shampoo every other day. Use conditioner any time your hair becomes wet on the days you do not shampoo.
2. Apply a very small amount of leave-in conditioner to damaged areas or leave a bit of regular conditioner in your hair instead of rinsing it all out.
3. Use a frizz-taming serum before styling your hair. Comb it through your hair thoroughly with a wide-tooth comb. This will help the hair's cuticle lay flat.
4. Reduce heat damage by allowing hair to air-dry or using a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer.
5. Apply a deep-conditioning treatment once a week. Follow the manufacturer's instructions closely.
