A ribbon makes a simple yet fashionable hair accessory.
Hair ribbons are an ideal fashion accessory for girls and women alike. They add a simple, feminine touch of color to a hairstyle and at the same time, add versatility to a wardrobe. You can buy pre-tied hair ribbons that have been glued to hair clips for easy application. However, if you want flexibility in the design of your hair ribbon, you can learn a simple way to tie one yourself.
Instructions
1. Lift the section of hair you want to tie in the ribbon using one hand. Place the middle of the ribbon under the section of hair using the other hand. Hold the ribbon so that it forms a U shape supporting the hair.
2. Cross the right end of the ribbon in front of the left end so that the two ends make an X. Fold the right end away from you and pull it gently through the bottom of the X (near the hair) until you have secured the hair in the ribbon. The former right end should now be the left end of the ribbon.
3. Fold the right end to make a loop. Pass the left end around the back of the loop so that it forms a circle around the loop.
4. Form a loop in the left end of the ribbon. Push the round end of this loop through the circle you made in Step 3, under the foremost side of the right end of the ribbon. Push the ribbon over the rearmost side of the right end of the ribbon and through the back of the circle.
5. Pull the two ends of the bow gently until the center of the bow is secure. Adjust the bow until you achieve your desired look.
