A well-placed hair ribbon can prove to be the perfect accessory to an outfit. While purchasing ribbons is an option, you can also create your own hair ribbons for girls. In addition to saving money, creating your own ribbons allows you to customize the ribbon by selecting the color and style yourself.
Instructions
1. Remove the tension spring from a barrette clip and set it aside.
2. Snip the end of the ribbon at a 45-degree angle.
3. Create a loop in the ribbon by bending it back over itself and pinching in the center, so that the loop is slightly bigger than the clip.
4. Create a second loop by wrapping the ribbon out, then beneath the center point and again pinching the ribbon in place.
5. Create two more loops by bending the ribbon and passing it over the center of the bow. You should have four loops, with a loop above and below the horizontal axis in each direction.
6. Wrap the crafting wire around the ribbon at the pinched point to secure the ribbon.
7. Snip any excess ribbon at a 45-degree angle.
8. Attach the ribbon to the clip with hot glue.
9. Cut 6 inches of ribbon and make a loose knot.
10. Glue this loose knot over the center of the bow.
11. Reattach the tension spring to the clip.
