It is easy to put the finishing touches on your little girl's holiday or special occasion wear.If you are having difficulty finding just the right hair accessory to compliment the outfit, the solution is simple. Make your own ruffled hair clips, so you can match the colors and style effortlessly. Involve the girls and let them help you pick out the ribbons and details, and have fun while doing a special project together.
Instructions
1. Lay all the ribbons and lace down side by side and start to play with colors and arrangements. Test your ribbons and things on the clip by scrunching it up and adding thin ribbon to the main large ribbon. Choose at least one large ribbon and a few smaller accent ribbons for the final decision.
2. Heat up the glue gun and test it to see if it is ready by squeezing out a little drop onto a thick piece of scrap cardboard.
3. Lay out a large piece of ribbon and hot glue it to one end of your clip. Push up the ribbon to make a loop and glue down the bottom of the loop. Push another piece of ribbon directly next to the loop up, to meet the loop and make another one the exact same size. Glue down the bottom of the second loop. Continue this all along the clip until you come to the end.
4. Cut the left over ribbon off at the end of the clip. Tie a bow with a couple small ribbons and add them where you first glued the larger ribbon.
5. Use lace by cutting three strips a little larger than your clip. make a loose fan with one strip and glue it down as far to the edge as possible. Repeat with all three pieces of lace to create a ruffled lace clip. Add some small ribbons by gluing them anywhere you want on the clip, in between the strips.
