Make cute 1-inch mini hair bows.
Mini hair bows let the world know your beautiful baby is a girl. Sprinkle a few satin ribbon mini hair bows in an up-do for an elegant hairdo for a young lady. This would be a lovely look for a junior bridesmaid. These bows only require a few inches of ribbon so make a set of multicolored bows and package them with a baby brush and comb for an inexpensive shower gift for a baby girl.
Instructions
1. Cut the end of the ribbon at a 45-degree angle to prevent fraying. Fold the ribbon 1 inch from the end. Fold the ribbon again 1 inch from the first fold. This is the first loop of your bow.
2. Fold the ribbon 1 inch away from the second fold. Fold the ribbon one last time 1 inch from the third fold. Cut the ribbon at a 45-degree angle 1 inch from the last fold. You now have a bow with two loops and a tail of ribbon on each side.
3. Cut a 3/4-inch piece of ribbon and wrap it around the center of the bow turning the end under 1/4 inch. Sew the ends together. Pull the loops apart if you want a fluffier bow.
4. Sew the bow onto a hair clip. You may also wrap the short piece of ribbon around both the bow and the hair clip before you sew the ends together.
