Make Shoe Clips
from Vintage Earrings
Whether you are a Rockabilly queen or just want to spice things up, shoe clips are the ideal fashion accessory! You can instantly transform a plain pair of heels with just a little creativity! Follow these easy steps and turn an awesome pair of vintage earrings into something everyone will envy!
Instructions
1. Find a great pair of vintage costume earrings, whether in your own jewelry box, eBay, or from an estate sale. These are usually very affordable on sites like eBay.com and you may find more than one pair you love!
2. Purchase shoe clip findings (a pair). These can easily be found on sites like eBay.com or www.craft-stop.com. They open and close just like clip-on earrings only they are made specifically for shoes.
3. Carefully remove the postings from the back of the earrings. This should be pretty easy as most earring posts are glued on. You will need the surface to be smooth in order to adhere the shoe clip finding to the back, so make sure you scrape off any leftover glue first.
4. Clean free of any residue of tarnish to the earrings.
5. Plug in the hot glue gun and allow to heat up, making sure to follow the manufacturer's directions and warnings.
6. Place a small drop of the glue onto the back of the earring and adhere it to the finding. Make sure not to get the glue on your fingers, as it will be VERY hot. Repeat this step on the other earring.
7. Allow the glue to dry completely.
8. Snap onto any pair of heels and there you go- a dressed up option for an otherwise bore!
