Making softball hair bows is a creative way to combine team spirit with fashion. Making your own custom made softball hair bows with the help of the team members, is a great team bonding activity and allows the teammates to express their creativity and show off their style. By using a few craft store items and materials that you might already have in your home, you can create your own softball hair bows in no time flat.
Instructions
1. Measure how much ribbon you will need. Make a loop with the ribbon and pinch it where it meets itself. Then, make another identical loop on the other side. Shape the bow so that both ends of the bow point in a downward fashion. Continue making loops and pinching each one to the previously fashioned one to add abundance, volume and shape to the softball bow.
2. Sew your bow. After you have finished making your loops, put in a few stitches using your needle and thread. Secure the loops tightly to make sure it does not fall apart when the kids are jumping around.
3. Make a knot. With another piece of ribbon, make a knot. Use a contrasting color that will not clash with the team's color motif. Using your glue gun, apply your knot over where you sewed the loops together on your bow. The knot will obscure the stitches and make your bow look like it is knotted. Take the excess ribbon from the knot and wrap it around the bow, then secure it with glue.
4. Attach your barrette. Make a line of glue onto the back of your bow and glue it to your barrette. Allow it to dry completely, because if you disturb it before it is dry, the bow will slip off.
5. Glue your buttons. With buttons that match team colors, hot glue them to the tails of the bow, allowing them to thoroughly dry.
